Headphone Finder Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Headphone Finder ("the app"), published by Sedo Studio Limited ("we", "us"), handles information. The app is built so that your data stays on your device.

No accounts, no sign-in

Headphone Finder does not ask you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal details such as your name, email address, or phone number.

No backend server

The app does not connect to a Sedo Studio server. There is no central database of users or devices, and no information about your headphones is uploaded to us.

Bluetooth scanning happens on your phone

Headphone Finder uses Bluetooth only to scan for nearby devices from your phone. The signal strength it displays is measured locally. Details of discovered devices never leave your device.

What is stored on your device

The app stores the name and identifier of the headphones you choose to track, together with your settings and a small amount of housekeeping — for example, how many times you have successfully found your headphones, so the app knows not to ask you to rate it twice.

All of this is stored locally on your device and none of it is transmitted to us. You can remove it at any time by tapping Forget this device in the app, or by deleting the app entirely.

What we do not collect

The app does not collect or access your location, contacts, photos, health data, advertising identifiers, or any other personal information. It does not show advertisements and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Third-party services

Two third-party services receive limited data:

• RevenueCat verifies in-app purchases. It receives an anonymous identifier generated by the app — not linked to your name or your Apple ID — along with your purchase history for this app and your country. It does not receive your name or email address.
• TelemetryDeck receives anonymous usage events, such as "a scan started", together with basic technical information like your app version, iOS version and device model, and a non-reversible hashed identifier used only to count how many people use the app. It is designed so that individual users cannot be identified or tracked across apps.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use either service for advertising.

Left-behind alerts

Left-behind alerts are generated locally on your device as notifications. They are not sent from a server and do not require us to know your location.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Sedo Studio Limited is the data controller for the limited information described above. We process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing and improving the app, and to perform our contract with you where purchases are concerned.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to request a copy in a portable format. Because the app has no accounts, we hold almost nothing capable of identifying you — but if you would like to make a request, email info@sedo-studio.com and we will respond within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office ( ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been handled improperly.

International transfers

RevenueCat is based in the United States, so purchase verification data is processed there under appropriate safeguards. TelemetryDeck processes data within the European Union.

How long data is kept

Information stored on your device remains until you tap Forget this device or delete the app. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat for as long as is necessary to honour purchases you have made.

Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no account is required and no personal data is collected, there is no personal profile for children or for anyone else.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, along with its last updated date.
